Hi, Nuno Donato.
Thanks for reporting this regression.
Can you provide information that is displayed when you launch gcalctool from
commandline (i.e. Open terminal, type "gcalctool>terminal_dump" and then upload
the file "terminal_dump" from your home directory) ?

Title:
  gcalctool is slow beyond reasonable

Status in “gcalctool” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
gcalctool takes me 6-9 seconds to start (thats the double or triple of
firefox on my system).
In comparison, Galculator, starts in 1 second.

I would like to be able to help, but I don't know which tools might come in
hand to figure out what is going on.
In the IRC channel #ubuntu a couple of other people have confirmed the same
problem. In #gnome they denied it.
  I'm running precise.
