simple-scan crashed with SIGSEGV in vfprintf()

Status in “simple-scan” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: simple-scan

  1) I started simple-scan and did couple of scannings.
  2) I disconnect the scanner's USB-cable from the PC. Had to do some printing
work with a separate printer.
  3) simple-scan crashed after I reconnected it to the PC (and when initiated a
scan).
