I have more data on this: each time I talk with somebody, the xmpp
account closes after 10 minutes of idle status.

Let me show an example (copy paste from the chat window, I am "Me" and
"Sergio" is my buddy):

04:50:54 PM - Me: son diccionarios ya listos para ir sumando de a uno
04:51:05 PM - Me: buscate ejemplos en la web, capaz que no tenes que hacer casi
nada
04:51:09 PM - Me: mas que pasar los criterios
05:01:31 PM - Your account is disconnected (the status of Sergio is no longer
known).
05:01:25 PM - Sergio is Offline.

Title:
xmpp chat account disconnects very often

Status in “thunderbird” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
After upgrading to Thunderbird 16.0.1 (via normal Ubuntu upgrade
process) one of the xmpp accounts I use to chat via Thunderbird gets
disconnected all the time although it is hard to pinpoint when it
happens: maybe after I don't use it for some minutes, when I go to the
tab where I have my chat, it is disconnected (it says "the server
closed the connection"). If I click on the name of one of my contacts,
it gets connected again. This does not happen with my irc account ,
only with my xmpp accounts (I have one @gmail and one corporate
account that uses Google Business apps).
