Public bug reported:

After upgrading to 12.10, Ubuntu no longer honors my setting to never
turn my screen off.

Here's how I have it set:

System Settings > Brightness and Lock > "Turn screen off when inactive
for:" > Never

Despite this, the monitor seems to dim off every 10 to 15 minutes
(approximately). This if especially frustrating because this particular
computer is hooked up to my TV where I'm watching steaming programs that
last much longer than 10 minutes.

I should note, that I do indeed have the check box checked that says
"Dim screen to save power", but I think the typical user would assume
that setting "Turn screen off when inactive for": to "Never" would
supersede that setting.

Either the settings are not working correctly, or the GUI should make
these subtleties more clear.
