Still occurring on Ubuntu 12.04.1 "Precise Pangolin" with poppler
updated to the latest available Ubuntu package.

The same problem also occurs when selecting part of the text with the
mouse.

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: evince

  I have opened a PDF file, I Pressed Ctrl + A.
  I Expected that all of the text would be selected.
  But it did not, it only selected a few characters.
  It almost looks like its picking random characters.
