It's still there in 12.10 because it's still the same version of
Liferea.

There's also a Debian bug report too: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-

Title:
Liferea WAL file grows without limit

Status in “liferea” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
Just got an out of space warning on my SSD. turns out
.liferea_1.8/liferea.db-wal was topping 20GB of space. This problem is
a known bug and was fixed in Liferea 1.8.6. Ubuntu 12.04 has Liferea
1.8.3. This patch should probably be applied.
