I've also seen this issue for a while now. Using NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M
and Intel graphics card Optimus setup with Bumblebee and proprietary
NVIDIA driver. Same result for using "optirun". This affects all ad
banners.

Title:
Banners in Software Center do not work as intended and fglrx driver
  shows white right border

Status in “fglrx-installer” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed
Status in “software-center” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
The banners (ads) in 12.04's Software Center are buggy. At this moment
there are 4 banners in the SC. The second banner should be the
Multiwinia banner and direct to the Multiwinia game.

It works like that on my Eee-Pc. But on my desktop-pc the second
banner is the Tickr banner and when I click it, it directs me to
Multiwinia. On my desktop the Tickr banner shows twice, where it
  should only show once.

  I find it difficult to explain, so I made a video;
  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F1PfqvnGagc

Also the Definitive Guides of Ubuntu has a complete black background
on my Eee-Pc, while on my desktop the background is 50% black and 50%
white. I believe the background was intended to be black?

  I am using a 1920x1080 resolution flatscreen.
