I have about 5 GB in my Gmail inbox. I noticed that my PC used around 1GB of bandwidth per day! Shocking as I have already used 10 GB of my very pricey bandwidth. I then started digging around and found that my Thunderbird 16.02 installed on Ubuntu 12.04 uses a massive 70MB constantly on idle per hour!
This is a very serious issue and could cost people with mobile connections severely.
