I can confirm this bug on my system. The only difference is that I'm actually able to use and write formulas in libre-office writer for a few minutes but then, as soon as i pick an existing formula for editing or try to create a new one, Writer crashes without not even bringing apport-bug up (No, it's not blacklisted).
