On FF backspace goes back.
BTW why Thunar works like that also? Couse thats what people expect it to be
couse it has been like that for long time.
FF wont make backspace to work as "up folder"
Thats about linux.
We can check also other platform where is most users who would like to start
using in simply understandable way. And that way is also in all Windows Web
browsers and in Windows Nautilus/Thunar - My Computer/File Explorer. Backspace
is been default for going back for most computer users witch are using computer
for doing something easy and fast and not for learning computer and for
programms that they dont use some different shortcuts. Global commands are the
same. Where is only few ppl using programm with different shortcuts they cant
make other ppl to start doing everything different way but just their own
programm.
Heres how many have "backspace to go back" programms -
http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_os.asp and heres how many use
backspace for back http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp and you
cant find more ppl then thouse who wants backspace to be back couse even Linux
users want it to be back.
Most times you already came from down folder so backspace will make back as u
think alt+up is doing. And sometimes u can use shortcuts and then using
alt+left is more then usually needed. Ussual need needs one key and ussual
needs are back from where u came from. So if now for back is needed some 2key
combo its waste of time for forwarding and going around and waste of time for
finding out about it and waste for thouse who found and use this new way couse
allways need to waste 2keypress time. So back you up.
