Hi,

I'm affected by this bug, but only when using cinnamon, not unity.
Something was done in compiz to prevent this problem but this was not
done in muffin/mutter.

I've found out that when using xscreensaver the issue happens as well,
BUT when moving the mouse xscreensaver's password prompt shows up (with
black background), and then goes away and blue comes back when the
timeout expires, that sounds like some X buffer is turning blue, and
xscreensaver is successful in overwriting it, while gnome-screensaver
isn't.
