Title:
sound plug should have mono output option

Status in “gnome-control-center” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
The sound plug should have a check box to enable downmixing sound to
  mono output.

This is useful for people who are deaf or hard of hearing in one ear
and who use headphones. It is also useful or people who, for example,
  have one broken speaker.
