Title:
[Analog Devices AD1986A] pactl stat failed to find default card

Status in “pulseaudio” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: pulseaudio

been running 10.04 without problems but after the last kernel upgrade
my computer no longer has sound. In sound preferences dialog the tab
for hardware is empty. Sometimes (very rarely) the system does pick up
onboard sound so I know the hardware is OK. Ran the sound debug which
generated the report and told me to fill in this web page. Don't
really know enough about computers to give you more accurate
information - I hope the debug report has all you need. This is the
first time I've reported a bug - what happens now?
