This problem is mostly happening for me when trying to access an
application on a different workspace by clicking the application's icon
in the unity launcher.

It happens very often with skype, but also terminal is now affected. If
I try to access terminal by clicking on the according icon in the
launcher, the window is lost.

If an application like GIMP or NETBEANS opens a dialog, it might also be
lost if you switch to a different workspace before the dialog opens.

This bug is a serious obstacle during work.

  Windows disappear unexpectedly when switching application

Bug description:
  When working with some applications, after you switch between
  application the window of the firt application disappears and can't be
  reached again, although through ps command you can see that the
  application is still running.

  For example:
  1.- Open DIA in Ubuntu 12.04 under Unity 3D
  2.- Change window (go to Firefox, for example)
  3.- Try to switch again to DIA (you can't)
  4.- ps -elaf | grep dia (you'll see the application is still running)

  This have happened with many applications, as DIA, pgAdminIII,
  rapidsvn. Altought it doesn't happen with Firefox, Chromium,
  LibreOffice or Nautilus.
