According to bug 854202 deja-dup still crashes if ubuntuone-couch isn't installed and might be causing the reporter problems mounting extrenal drives. Also the recommend was somehow removed and isn't present in the latest version(19.92-0ubuntu1).

The crash is a bug, but just adding the dependency is only my opinion. One might: 1) make deja-dep depend on ubuntuone-couch (easy, but not strictly necessary since U1 isn't the default) 2) prompt the user to install ubuntuone-couch when selecting U1 as destination (more complex) 3) make a dummy package deja-dup-ubuntuone that depends on ubuntuone-couch (requires the user to know what to install) ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.10 Package: deja-dup 19.3-0ubuntu2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.0-3.4-generic 3.0.0-rc5 Uname: Linux 3.0-3-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: fglrx Architecture: amd64 Date: Sat Jul 9 14:55:28 2011 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 11.10 "Oneiric Ocelot" - Alpha amd64 (20110622) ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=en_US:en PATH=(custom, user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: deja-dup UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/deja-dup/+bug/807979/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
