Sir,
sorry for the delay. I got stuck with Kubuntu 12.10 installation.
Use rear stereo analog out only. Do not have ear phone.
According to the manual rear green is for stereo out .
The problem arose after update. After update a restart was required, but
after restart there was no sound. I have restarted many times. but no use.
but in the evening it was ok()"automatically". This type of incidence
occurred previously also. But no problem with windows 7.
Some thing may gone wrong with OS hardware detection.

Another heartbreaking incidence occurred. I don't know where to complain.
when I cannot hear sound in kubundu 12.04 LTS. I tried to install Kubundu
12.10 as an alternative when the LTS goes wrong.
Live booting of Kubundu 12.10 was impressive and installation was also
brisk.
But after installation the reboot was extremely slow it takes minutes and
minutes.
When it was very very slow to boot and work I tried recovery mode. Some
thing called inodes are fixed, some directory structures problems are
cleared, I/O error in buffer showed. and corrected.
But even after that system is slow to get even recovery options.
could not repair broken packages. through mode. it says some files are
read only, could not resolve and download extras/ubundu/... etc. I checked
the partition with KDE partition manager and the report attached.
No use even cannot change the default grub boot option to old os using grub
config of KDE. In real real trouble. please help.

Thank You

Title:
[TA890GXE, ATI RS690/780 HDMI, Digital Out, HDMI] Playback problem

Status in “alsa-driver” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
After the regular update by update manager the syatem doesnot have any
sound, only a few crack sounds.
During update I was hearing music. But after the restart(after update) no
sound at all,
use of "ubuntu-bug -s audio" command and the following trouble shooting
process showed the messge " You Don't seem to have configured "PULSE Audio" to
use the card you want to output from....... ".
When I inspected the 'sound setting' the device automatically changed to
'hdmi', I changed it back to 'analog sterio output' but the sound is not
restored to normal after many restarts. This problem happened earlier also
while certain previous updates.
