Title:
Intel graphics run only in 2D after 3.2.38 kernel update in 12.04

Status in “xserver-xorg-video-intel” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Description: Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS
  Release: 12.04
I updated my Dell Inspiron 620 to the Kernel Linux 3.2.0-38-generic running
GNOME 3.4.2. Now I cannot run a display resolution over 1280 x 1024 at 5:3 (it
thinks my 23 inch monitor is a Laptop screen). I have checked for drivers and
it finds none. MyUnity will not let me adjust the size of my launcher or icons
which are both comparable to a resolution of 800 x 600.

Also potentially unrelated, but occured after update my clock time zone says
New York (proper zone) but it is reading 2:13 AM and I am reporting this at
9:13 PM.
The whole experience is a head scratcher for me.
