The page begins to load in the background. At one point firefox hangs for 3-5 seconds and then resumes. I think this is probably happening when the page stops downloading and it starts rendering, but I have no way to confirm this. There is a noticable lag and If I am scrolling through a large portion of text all of a sudden the scroll bar stops scrolling. It still receives input though, and when firefox resumes it scrolls really fast to where it would have been if it was acting normally.
