Title: Epson Perfection 3170 Scanner not detected Status in “simple-scan” package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: "No device detected" in the following: Simple-Scan, Xsane and IScan. Installed pkgs downloaded fron Epson-Fujitsu site as follows: iscan-plugin-gt-9400-1.0.0-1.c2.i386.rpm iscan-2.10.0-1.c2.i386.rpm Converted each to deb pkg using alien. Installed both successfully and all downloaded files seem to be in the correct folders. Modified both epson2.conf and epkowa.conf with line usb 0x4b8 0x0116 and saved. Checked /sane.d/dll.conf to see if new library file installed epkowa.conf. It was added. Still no scanner devices detected in the three programs. Scanner is on and attached to usb. Works in WinXP.
