Title:
[Hardy] After dist-upgrade Epiphany and Firefox render most fonts with
  uneven letter spacings

Status in “firefox” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid
Status in “xulrunner-1.9” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: update-manager

Epiphany 2.20.1 and Firefox 2.0.0.14 displaed the letters on
http://www.linux-user.de/ausgabe/2008/03/070/index.html with even distances,
but after my dist-upgrade to Hardy (Epiphany version 2.22.1.1 and Firefox
3.0b5) this webpage and most other fonts are displayed with uneven spacings
between letters. E.g. a 'j' presses a following 'e'. This continues even if I
press Ctrl++. (The letters in the GNOME menus are spaced evenly though.)
  lsb_release -rd: Description: Ubuntu 7.10, Release: 7.10
  update-manager version 1.0.81.2
I expected to happen that the letters are displayed with equal spacings.
Instead they are displayed with uneven spacings.
