I have a similar problem, maybe Sergey will know if it's the same thing.
When I take screenshots I get old stuff that used to be on the screen
some time ago.

I found that switching to a text-mode virtual terminal and back to X,
then immediately taking the screenshot, gets me the correct screen
contents. If this works in general, perhaps an automatic process with
similar side-effects could be patched into the Ubuntu distro, or
something.

Title:
screenshot app gives plain blank screen

Status in “fglrx-installer” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
When taking screenshots via either printscreen hotkey, app from menu,
or via external application (scrot) the results simply yield a plain
blank screen with a mouse pointer. I have tried all modes with
floating windows, maximized, and plain desktop. this bug should be
relatively easy to duplicate. Also do not believe this to be a driver
issue as on a vanilla ubuntu 12.10 install running identical drivers
  this issue was not present.
