System: Ubuntu 12.10 with Unity, NVidia proprietary graphics driver
Inkscape:  inkscape 0.48.3.1-1ubuntu6.1 and inkscape-trunk 
0.48+devel+12188+35~quantal1

Steps: Launch Inkscape. Resize Window (simple resize, fullscreen view or
maximize). Inkscape freezes with CPU on 100%.

I used strace and found Inkscape hanging in the following loop:
>strace inkscape
