Title:
Firefox profile directory not accessible from about:support in LMDE
  (Linux Mint Debian)

Status in The Linux Mint Distribution:
  New
Status in “firefox” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:

Operating system : Linux mintdebian 3.2.0-2-amd64 Linux Mint Debian
Edition Release: 1
  Firefox 14.0.1

In LMDE the Firefox profile folder located in the default ~/.mozilla
location can't be accessed -as it should normally be- from the
about:support page clicking the Open Directory button.

Steps to reproduce: from the Firefox menu
button-->Help-->Troubleshooting Information (or type about:support in
the URL bar),then press the Open Directory button.

  What happens:nothing.

What should happen:the Firefox profile folder located in the default
  directory home/user/.mozilla should open.

  Reproducible:always

Possibly related issue:the "Open Data Folder" in the Tools menu and
"Show Files" entry in the Tools menu in the right-click context menu
of the Scrapbook addon also do nothing instead of opening the related
  directory
