You should be able to upgrade Shotwell again and see the fix.  Or,
uninstall Shotwell and reinstall again.

  Shotwell doesn't start since the latest libgexiv2 update.

  dpkg --list | grep -E "(libgexiv2-0|shotwell)"
  ii  libgexiv2-0                               0.4.1-0ubuntu1
  ii  shotwell                                  0.12.1-0ubuntu1

  ldd `which shotwell` | grep libgexiv2  
        libgexiv2.so.0 => not found

  ls -l /usr/lib/libgexiv2.so*                
  lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root     18 Apr  2 08:02 /usr/lib/libgexiv2.so.1 -> 
libgexiv2.so.1.0.0
