Look like this bug is somehow related to quiet annoying LP bug 1075928: "Gdk-CRITICAL **: IA__gdk_error_trap_pop: assertion `gdk_error_traps != NULL' fail" console message on every GTK+ app start in KDE and probably all other non-GNOME DE.
Can anybody tell if unsetting GTK_MODULES is proper solution for bug 1075928 also? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to libcanberra in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/385577 Title: GTK_MODULES should be set only for gnome Status in “libcanberra” package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: The session script in /etc/X11/Xsession.d/52libcanberra-gtk- module_add-to-gtk-modules sets up GTK_MODULES, but it should only be set when logging in GNOME. One consequence of the current behaviour is that for instance attaching a file in a message in thunderbird results in sounds when opening/closing the file open dialog. All this when not running gnome but for instance fvwm2..
