I am on 13.04 and noticed that after the crash of the extension,
chromium is entirely fubar:

I have to manually kill -9 the parent process on the shell ... I don't
know if we should consider the above bug a duplicate, because a crashing
extension shouldn't take all of chromium with it ...

Bug description:
  On various pages the unity plugin has crashed if you click no never on
  this page or even yes from time to time.  nothing seems to set it off,
  it just crashes. and the address bar then has a notfication saying it
