By the way, over the last week, I also (automatically) sent several
apport-gpu error reports. However, I do not know how I can refer to
these here, because the system does not give me any error handling
number or the like.

Title:
Intel GPU X driver crashes several times during a session. Often hard
  boot necessary

Status in “xorg” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
For about two weeks (I assume one of the driver updates caused the
problem), the Intel GPU X driver crashes several times during a
session. Several times a day, a hard reboot is necessary since
everything but the mouse cursor freezes. It is also not possible to
switch to text consoles via Alt-F keys.

It is a particularly severe bug, because it results in system freezes
and therefore in data loss. It happens in Gnome 3 Shell and also in
Unity. I also cannot associate the Intel GPU driver crash with any
particular activity. Sometimes it even crashes without having done
  anything.

I hope the attached log files will help to find the problem and to fix
it. If you need more information, I am more than willing to provide
  additonal tests.
