I never had this problem, but with an upgrade to 13.04 a similar bug has
occurred.

When leeting banshee play through songs, it correctly increments the
play count at the end of the track.

However if you manually select a track to play, it instantly increments
the play count, and then does so again at the end of the track, so any
track you specifically ask to play, ask it's play count incremented by 2
instead of 1

  Normally it should just increment when the song finished playing.

  When manually selecting a Song to play, the play count increments at the 
beginning AND ending of the Song.
  So the counter increments twice
