Bug description:
Hi. I use a DVI -> HDMI screen to connect my external monitor to my
laptop. Sometimes, instead of creating another workspace and filling
both of the screens, Ubuntu just puts the image from my laptop screen
half and half between my laptop and second screen, and if cable is
left connected for more than a few seconds, freezes the X server. I am
still able to move my mouse, however clicks have no effect on it.
Today, I tried connecting my second screen and the first image split
between two screens like described above. I quickly disconnected it
and plugged it back in again, to find that the same thing happened.
Upon the third try, I left it in a bit longer and the X server froze
like described above.
