I was confused with the "print to file" and cups-pdf. Turned out they
are not the same. I installed the cups-pdf, whcih works like a charm.
But this "print to file" does have a pdf output option but seems doing
nothing just fooling the user. As a default printer in Ubuntu, what's
the difference between this and the cups-pdf? Did I miss something so it
did not produce any pdf file?

** Changed in: cups (Ubuntu)
       Status: New => Invalid

Title:
  No pdf file is generated when printing to file

Status in “cups” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Strange enough. The print to file function suddenly stops working
  maybe after I upgated the system days ago. I try to use the cups to
  print from Firefox,Thunderbird, everything looks normal, just no pdf
  file generated under my home folder even after I seach through the
  subdirectories. No error can be found in the cups log in
  /var/log/cups. Can any one shed some light on this? Thanks a lot!
