Discusses this from the other angle, looks like the behaviour changed between 12.04 and 13.04:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2156088 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/995189 Title: Ejecting network drive causes nautilus to close Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: This is with amd64 12.04 with the latest updates. I have a windows file share that I can mount using nautilus. It shows up properly on the left bar. If I click the eject icon next to the mounted drive, nautilus ejects the drive and then closes without any error. I looked at the nautilus icon on the unity launchbar and realized that nautilus just doesn't close that window but the entire application. I consider this a bug. It should simply eject the drive without closing the nautilus window and the nautilus application.
