But my monitor/graphics (on the other end of the HDMI cable) works. I just do not see the HDMI sound output item in Settings -> Sound Settings (Play sound through). Only the notebook's built in speakers are shown here. HDMI cable and speaker are working (Tested it with Windows 7). I tried this without success: http://askubuntu.com/a/287487/175489 Short story: I downloaded from ALSA Launchpad the package: oem-audio-hda-daily-dkms_0.201307180559~raring1_all.deb. Then installed it and rebooted. No success. Again reinstalled the package via Ubuntu Software Center. No success.
