Public bug reported:

Using current saucy, it seems that the fix for bug #1212408 doesn't work

* Starting an Unity session (normal user, or guest session) "initctl
get-env XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP" states that the variable is not defined

* $ grep Desktop /usr/share/xsessions/ubuntu.desktop
...
X-LightDM-DesktopName=Unity

* editing /etc/X11/Xsession.d/99x11-common_start to add an "env >
/tmp/debug" gives that environment (when starting a guest session) shows
it's not in the environement there either

Other variable exported by lightdm, like XDG_VTNR are defined though...

** Affects: lightdm (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Low
         Status: Invalid
