Public bug reported:

This is a recent bug, all worked perfectly until the last week or so.

I have USB-powered speakers (Altec Lansing XT1) which prior to
suspending work fine. I can unplug them and plug them back in and they
still appear as an option in Sound Settings...

Following suspending and resuming, they no longer appear in Sound
Settings... even if they are unplugged before suspending and plugged
back in following resuming. Logging out and back in does not solve the
issue, and, so far, the only way of getting the speakers to work is to
reboot.

What I expect to happen: the speakers to appear in Sound Settings... and
to be able to play audio through them. This was the previous behaviour.

What actually happens: following resuming from suspend, I cannot select
my USB speakers through Sound Settings... despite the light on the
speakers switching on. I have to reboot my computer before I can select
them in the Sound Settings... menu once again.
