Just wanted to pipe up and mention a similar problem is occurring with Lubuntu Trusty, even though it uses LightDM. Note the empty black panels on the desktop in the att screenshot.

I'll post some screenshots soon, but basically the menus and windows do not respond properly at all. That said I'm fine if Ubuntu GNOME wants to say "won't fix" because it's OK to say "that's not something we want to focus on"! I just don't want to start any FUD :^) ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 13.10 Package: ubuntu-gnome-default-settings 13.10.11 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.11.0-12.19-generic 3.11.3 Uname: Linux 3.11.0-12-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.12.5-0ubuntu2.1 Architecture: amd64 Date: Sun Oct 27 10:29:32 2013 InstallationDate: Installed on 2013-10-11 (16 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu-GNOME 13.04 "Raring Ringtail" - Release amd64 (20130423.2) MarkForUpload: True PackageArchitecture: all ProcEnviron: TERM=xterm PATH=(custom, no user) XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=<set> LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: ubuntu-gnome-default-settings UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to saucy on 2013-10-17 (10 days ago) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm/+bug/1245209/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
