For ANY highlight mode, if I type before or in the middle of a highlighted
word, it will crash.
For example, C++ and typing before the word "for".

I'm using xubuntu and SunPinyin.

Title:
gedit segfault when typing with ibus and highlight matching brackets

Status in “gedit” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
Reproducible in Ubuntu 13.10, with IBus and a Chinese input method
  (Pinyin, Bopomofo, or Chewing).

  1. Start gedit.
  2. Go to Edit -> Preferences, and enable "highlight matching brackets"
  3. In the new text file, type these characters: "ya{ya}ya(ya)ya[ya]y" (all
brackets should be half-width to allow highlighting)
  4. Now enable a Chinese input method, and type some Chinese text.

  5. Actual result: When the text cursor is before a highlighted
bracket, typing will cause gedit to crash, with "Segmentation fault
(core dumped)". In the above example, if your text cursor is after
each "a" and before a bracket, gedit will crash.

Expected result: Crash shouldn't happen and gedit should accept the
  character being typed.
