Bug description:
  in http://people.ubuntuwire.org/~wgrant/rebuild-ftbfs-test/test-
  rebuild-20140127-trusty.html

the following packages fail to build when generating the pdf docs:
gdb-doc, iproute2, cvs, gnupg-doc, autoconf. checked main only, not
  yet universe.

checked that this can be reproduced when poppler is built with the
current gcc-4.8 and gcc-4.7 releases, both fsf and linaro branches.
The problem is seen on 32bit archs only (tested on i386 and armhf).
It can be worked around by building poppler with -O0.

This may be a GCC issue or a poppler issue, however because it is seen
with the stable gcc-4.7 builds too, it might point to a poppler issue.
