Title:
  Intermittent mouse pointer loss

Status in “xserver-xorg-input-evdev” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
Running fully-updated Lucid Lynx on Dell Dimension 4500s with USB
wired mouse, there is no mouse pointer at all initially after boot. It
will stay that way for about 10 minutes or so and then re-appear.
  Sometimes it disappears again though.

Tried changing the mouse pointer size thinking it would refresh
  something but this didn't work.

Killing and restarting Metacity seems to bring it back but even this
  is unpredictable.
