The current version in 12.04 is 2.7.8.dfsg-5.1ubuntu4.6, which is not
either of the ones reported in the logs.  I would remove libxml2:i386,
upgrade and then reinstall it and whatever other packages you have that
needed it.  I don't think this is an actual package bug, but some kind
of local configuration error.
