It happens to me too. I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and Rhythmbox skips
some specific songs. First I thought the files were corrupted but then I
tried to run these files on VLC and they ran perfectly. I wonder if
there is a workaround for this bug

Title:
  Rhythmbox Skips Songs

Status in The Rhythmbox Music Management Application:
  Expired
Status in “rhythmbox” package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: rhythmbox

  Occasionally, when playing songs by the same artist/band, Rhythmbox
  will skip the song currently playing and start the next song in line
  after playing for a short time. I'm not sure what is causing this.

  Using Ubuntu Jaunty Jackalope 9.04, package version 0.12.0-0ubuntu4.

  What I expected to happen: For the track to play its full length then go to
the next song in line.
  What happened instead: Track plays for a short time then skips forward to the
next song.

  ProblemType: Bug
  Architecture: i386

  ProcEnviron:
   LANG=en_US.UTF-8
   SHELL=/bin/bash
  SourcePackage: rhythmbox
  Uname: Linux 2.6.28-11-generic i686
