This bug was fixed in the package apport - 2.14.1-0ubuntu3.1

---------------
apport (2.14.1-0ubuntu3.1) trusty-proposed; urgency=medium

  * Move error handling for invalid .crash files into collect_info(), so that
it also applies when using the "Show Details..." button in the UI.
Otherwise the UI just hangs eternally at this point when encountering
broken core dumps. Cherry-picked from trunk r2789. (LP: #1282349)
  * Add kernel package version to the various kernel-related hooks. Thanks
Brian Murray. Cherry-picked from trunk r2799. (LP: #1316845)
  * Add a duplicate signature to suspend resume failures. Thanks Brian Murray.
    Cherry-picked from trunk r2800. (LP: #1316841)

Title:
apportcheckresume does not contain package version

Status in “apport” package in Ubuntu:

Status in “apport” source package in Trusty:

Bug description:
  [Test Case]
  1) run /usr/share/apport/apportcheckresume
  2) click show details
  3) uncheck "Send an error report"
  4) click continue
  5) find susres.$DATE_$TIME.crash in /var/crash
  6) view "Package: " line in it

With the version of apportcheckresume in Trusty you will notice that
there is no package version number in the line, there is just a name
(linux-image-1.2.3-generic). With the version from -proposed there
  will be a package version.

  Original Report
  ---------------
The apportcheckresume code does not add the version of the linux package to
the crash report in the Package field. This is fixed upstream with:

  https://code.launchpad.net/~brian-murray/apport/kernel-package-
  version/+merge/217650

However, this is not fixed in Ubuntu 14.04 and should be but bug
1316841 needs to be fixed in conjunction with this fix. Otherwise the
  crashes won't be bucketed together.
