I can confirm the same issue with my system, using an NVIDIA 660 GTX, running Mint 17 with Nvidia drivers 331.38. Turning off FXAA didn't work for me. None of the settings made a difference. The only thing worked was removing the NVIDIA settings file as suggested by xavier zinn. Now everything seems to be running flawlessly.
Delete .nvidia-settings-rc you find it by doing a ls -al (it shows the hidden files/directories) All I did was find the nvida-settings file and deleted it. Log out and log back in, and all should be good. The file gets recreated. ** Attachment added: "bug report, after deleting nvidia settings" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-331-updates/+bug/1309595/+attachment/4141761/+files/nvidia-bug-report.log.gz -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers-331-updates in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1309595 Title: Blur in 14.04 lts Status in “nvidia-graphics-drivers-331-updates” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: blur in every system, after 24 hours after having announced the ubuntu thusty thur, I have an incredible blur very annoying in every system ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.04 Package: nvidia-331-updates 331.38-0ubuntu7 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.13.0-24.46-generic 3.13.9 Uname: Linux 3.13.0-24-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia ApportVersion: 2.14.1-0ubuntu3 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: Unity Date: Fri Apr 18 12:20:43 2014 InstallationDate: Installed on 2014-04-17 (0 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 14.04 LTS "Trusty Tahr" - Release amd64 (20140417) SourcePackage: nvidia-graphics-drivers-331-updates UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) modified.conffile..etc.modprobe.d.nvidia.331.updates.hybrid.conf: [deleted] To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-331-updates/+bug/1309595/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
