Neither of those work in 14.04. The first brings up the gnome- screensaver lock screen (if you even have it installed, which I don't), the second the lock screen of whatever screensaver you use (in my case xscreensaver). They do not bring up the Unity lock screen.

It also has a few other different properties, like showing an accessibility icon (not displayed in the regular lock screen and stopping any playing music (which continues to play in the regular lock screen). It seems to do the exact same thing as the command "dm-tool switch-to- greeter." This has the side effect of, since Ubuntu 14.04, making it impossible to lock the screen from the terminal.
