@Harry yes it is the same side effect due to systemd/cgmanager. This report is already a follow up of a previous fixed one (lp:1342586) and here is against gdm (which yours are not). As Serge have started to study that issue from your report, i will test his ppa package. And maybe we will grab a less older systemd package that time (i'm surprised ubuntu is not picking the systemd upstream, which have made huge improvements & fixes).
That's said, i let this report not linked with yours. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gdm in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1343911 Title: gdm-session-worker crashed with SIGABRT in g_assertion_message() Status in “gdm” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: The latest cgmanager installation pushed by systemd-shim has broken the boot process: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/systemd-shim/+bug/1342586 if the report above have solved an issue, systemd-boot is still fully broken: need to use back upstart ProblemType: Crash DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.10 Package: gdm 3.10.0.1-0ubuntu6 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.16.0-4.9-generic 3.16.0-rc5 Uname: Linux 3.16.0-4-generic i686 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia ApportVersion: 2.14.4-0ubuntu2 Architecture: i386 Date: Thu Jul 17 15:09:39 2014 ExecutablePath: /usr/lib/gdm/gdm-session-worker ProcCmdline: gdm-session-worker\ [pam/gdm-launch-environment] Signal: 6 SourcePackage: gdm StacktraceTop: g_assertion_message () from /lib/i386-linux-gnu/libglib-2.0.so.0 g_assertion_message_expr () from /lib/i386-linux-gnu/libglib-2.0.so.0 ??
