Title:
Mouse pointer disappears when switching users

Status in “gdm” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
When I switch users from the GNOME Shell main menu, the GDM screen
comes up without the mouse pointer. The keyboard still works, but even
if I log in to another user using just the keyboard, the mouse pointer
does not appear in the new user session.

This problem is machine-specific: it doesn't happen on my desktop PC.
