sys mon showed no process consuming cpu
will try Restart next
restart caused a nasty lockup locking screen and terminal with no keyboard 
actions at all

Bug description:
  Opened a libre document via Nautilus
  changed some text within the document.
   pressed close and doc/screen started greying out and returning regularly 
  it offered to close with out saving (not chosen)
   allowed to continue for 10 min. will now force close or kill.
