Florian W.: Thank you for the clarification about version numbers. I
checked my own software update log and agree that there was, in fact, no
Chromium 35 from the Update Manager. Apparently Google's view of the
world through their narrow Windows does not give them much a realistic
panorama of the whole world.

I am now wondering if there is an easy way to revert to Chromiun 34. Or
would it be better to just abandon Chromium altogether on my older
machine? [ I do have a newer machine where Chromium 36 works OK. ]

  Chromium will no longer start after version 36 upgrade. Previous
  version worked ok. Execution from command line reports "Illegal
  instruction (core dumped)". Nothing displayed on screen.
