Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.
I can't reproduce this on my machine (Running Utopic w/ LibreOffice 4.3). With impress removed: libreoffice --impress > Opens Writer (as a fallback apparently) libreoffice --draw > opens Draw. Please execute the following command, as it will automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal: apport-collect 1359304 When reporting bugs in the future please use apport by using 'ubuntu-bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more about this functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs. This will gather information like the release and the exact installed packages. ** Changed in: libreoffice (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to libreoffice in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1359304 Title: draw can't start if impress is removed Status in “libreoffice” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: LibreOffice Draw doesn't work if LibreOffice Impress is removed. Somewhat related to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openoffice.org/+bug/313173 which was marked as a wontfix but this is more severe as Impress isn't currently marked as a dependency of Draw.
