Public bug reported: Take a "known good" document with embedded postscript. Regression: Previously worked on new 14.04 install.
This worked as follows (base:4.2.3~rc3-0ubuntu2): Tools->Options: Uncheck "PDF as standard print job format". Looks rubbish on screen, but that is known problem. Print file to postscript printer, and it looks fine. Apply upgrades as they are made available to reach: 4.2.6.3-0ubuntu1 Looks rubbish on screen, as before, but printing now produces rubbish on the page. Also tried PPA: 1:4.3.1~rc2-0ubuntu1~trusty1 To get a decent printout: Downgrade libreoffice, as described here: http://askubuntu.com/questions/248953/can-i-use-an-older-version-of-libreoffice This one worked fine: LibreOffice_4.2.3.3_Linux_x86-64_deb.tar.gz "Looks rubbish" - unreadable actually. Looks to be some very low resolution version of the image which is present in the postscript file. This would be consistent with web-searching about how OOo, L.O. handle embedded postscript. Clearly I would prefer to stay on main package tree, or on the PPA. If someone can provide precise command line instructions (inc file location) on how to downgrade to a specific ubuntu package version, I'll try them. Gerard Description: Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS Release: 14.04 I now have a working version, as I downgraded to (LibreOffice 4.2.3.3). Other versions are as described.
