Are there any fixes/workarounds regarding this issue? This happens 5-6 times a day everyday and restarting is the only way to be able to use my computer. Often the OS would freeze when I go to restart the computer and hard shutdown remains the only option. Another screenshot is attached.
Thanks. ** Attachment added: "Screenshot from 2014-10-16 14:26:28.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1381914/+attachment/4240174/+files/Screenshot%20from%202014-10-16%2014%3A26%3A28.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1381914 Title: Screen Display goes haywire Status in “xorg” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I upgraded to ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr a couple of days ago. There were a few errors/bugs which I automatically reported but I ended up with a usable OS and mostly everything worked fine. Suddenly the display on monitors turned haywire. I have a 2 monitors set up and both monitors started displaying random gray stripes on top of the actual applications that were open on the screens. Both the screens were covered in these gray stripes which were moving around randomly as well. I don't know what package or software/application is responsible for the behavior. It was the first time it happened on ubuntu (14.04, I had been been using ubuntu 12.04 for almost 2 years prior with same hardware) but I have seen this happen on Fedora 20 with a 2 monitor setup multiple times. I have a camera photo of what the screens looked like but the "printscreen" option on the keyboard failed to save the data on the screens. Let me know if any further information is desired.
